Tool Methodology
How our tools obtain results — based on the current codebase, not marketing claims.
IP Geolocation
Geolocation tools map a public IP to network and location fields. Implementations commonly call ipapi.co and/or our same-origin /api/ip-api proxy toward ip-api.com. Visitor IP discovery may use ipify.

WHOIS / RDAP
Domain and IP registration lookups use public WHOIS/RDAP-style data. Personal registrant fields are often redacted. Related: WHOIS Lookup.
DNS
DNS tools query Google Public DNS and Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS (A, AAAA, MX, CNAME, TXT, NS, SOA, PTR, SRV, CAA depending on the page).
Related: DNS Lookup, CNAME Lookup, TXT Record Lookup, Reverse DNS.
Ping / Latency
Measures round-trip timing from the tool's configured vantage path. Results depend on distance, routing, and whether probes are allowed. Related: Ping, Latency.
Traceroute
Reveals hops with increasing TTL. Incomplete traces are common when routers filter probes. Related: Traceroute.
Port Testing
Attempts connections from the checker's network. Results may differ from your LAN due to NAT and firewalls. Related: Port Checker.
