Accuracy & Limitations
What our results can and cannot tell you. We do not publish unsupported accuracy percentages.
IP geolocation
Country-level data is usually more reliable than city-level data. VPNs, proxies, and mobile networks often place an IP far from the end user. Coordinates are database estimates — not GPS.
ASN and ISP identification
Organization and ASN fields come from registration and geolocation datasets and may lag renumbers or reseller networks.
Reverse DNS
Many IPs have no PTR. When present, names are set by the IP block owner.
DNS results
Public resolvers cache until TTL expiry. Different resolvers may briefly disagree after a change.
Latency, ping, and traceroute
Timing varies with load and path. Filtered probes produce incomplete traces. A failed ping does not always mean a service is offline.
Port checks
Results reflect the checker's vantage point, not necessarily your LAN.
VPN detection & blacklists
Detection is heuristic. Blacklist membership changes over time and differs across operators.
